Google is Displaying Request Quotes Button On Local Results on Mobile

Google keeps on updating its algorithm from time to time, and recently, they introduced the BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) update, which affects complex search queries that are entirely dependent on the text, and now, they have introduced a new feature, i.e., request quotes button in local results. This change came into the notice of Tom Waddington; however, this has not been made clear whether they are testing this feature as of now, or they have permanently made this change.

This functionality seems to be available only to businesses participating in the Local Services Ads (LSAs) program. In the current scenario, LSAs deliver phone leads to a gamut of local businesses, and they only provide this service to the businesses that are Google Guaranteed and have passed the required licensing, insurance, and those whose background is verified. But after filtering various elements, this service is available to any Google Guaranteed business irrespective of the fact that they are or not a part of LSAs.

This step, if it’s more than just a trial or test, clearly opens a door for both businesses and consumers to get in touch with each other and communicate as well as transact. According to recent reports, it is quite baffling to make a clear statement regarding how many businesses can be contacted via this process

It is indispensable for business owners to be cognizant of the fact that the quote provided to them is through Google My Business (GMB) messaging. And this would require them to install its app. Also, there have been multiple complaints regarding its functionality. Apart from this, you should know that LSAs directly provide top-notch leads to the business, and this is a coherent extension of that mission.

Also, there is a flip-side to it, businesses; would need to provide more details to justify their quotes, which would require a home visit or an email that can justify it.
